I recently returned from a jam-packed few days attending my first IEA Global Conference in San Antonio, TX.  It was an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the world's leading Enneagram professionals and teachers; network with the international community of IEA members; and broaden my perspective on the multiple applications of using the Enneagram in business and every day life.

During the conference, I met with two other members of the Midwest Chapter of the IEA, and we determined the need to rename our chapter to be more reflective of our membership base and areas of focus.  The chapter is now known as IEA Great Lakes Chapter, serving the five states bordering four of the five Great Lakes.  There is a very active chapter in Minnesota, so we excluded that state and Lake Superior in our geographic area of concentration.

I was asked to serve as Vice President of the Great Lakes Chapter, which I humbly accepted.  As a board of directors, we want to expand and deepen our connection with other Enneagram professionals and enthusiasts by offering programs, social events, etc. that will bring like-minded people together to explore the Enneagram and learn from one another.

Launching New Business - Today, July 17, 2017

I'm officially launching my new consulting business - Enneagram Chicago - today, Monday, July 17, 2017!

After a robust 40+ year business career in the print and electronic media industry, as well as experience in philanthropic fundraising for a non-profit, I decided it was time to share my knowledge, experience and real-life adventures in working and interacting with a diverse population of professionals, groups and individuals.

I spent nearly 20 yrs. of my business career with Meredith Corporation, a $1.7 billion dollar Fortune 500 media company. I worked at the corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA and well as several years in their NYC office.  As a Vice President and Publishing Director, I was responsible for a $100 million dollar special interest multi-media business. I had the opportunity to manage hundreds of media professionals over my tenure. Looking back on those years, I am the most proud of the people I was invited to mentor and provide advancement opportunities for them and their careers.

In 2004, I was recruited to be the president of midsize $350 million dollar company in Cincinnati, by a NYC private equity firm. I participated in the sale of the company to another private equity firm late in 2015.  Subsequently, I was recruited to become CEO of a $60 million dollar media company, also in Cincinnati. In 2012, I started a marketing and management consulting firm that helped businesses with strategic planning and human resource development.

After returning to Des Moines, Iowa, I joined a large non-profit senior living organization as VP of Philanthropy in 2014 to experience hands-on fundraising and philanthropy for capital building campaigns and numerous social service programs, including Meals on Wheels, Public Health and hospice.

After moving back to my hometown of Chicago in 2017, I decided it was time to bring all my years of business experience and personal growth knowledge under one banner to help businesses, groups and/or individuals grow and develop by utilizing the Enneagram and other tools.

Early in 2009, I enrolled in an Introduction to the Enneagram seminar at a local university. It began an amazing journey that continues to expand and deepen my acceptance and appreciation of who I am; why I do what I do; and how I see the world in relationship with others.

In February 2012, I enrolled in the Palmer/Daniels Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition Certification Program in Menlo Park, CA. I completed my training and internship to teach the Enneagram in November 2012 in Asheville, NC.

My intention was to launch my consulting business immediately following my certification. However, my life took an excepted detour path of fundamental change and rebirth. Now, after five years of life-enhancing opportunities for personal growth, I am launching Enneagram Chicago.
